Spring term 1 - Mosaics

This term we will be exploring the stunning art craft that is Mosaics. The Foxes will be travelling through time looking at the history of this beautiful craft from Roman civilisation to modern day artists such as Antoni Gaudi and Peter Mason.

In English, we will be reading and working the story 'The Dragon on the roof' a story inspired by the famous Gaudi building Casa Bastello in Barcelona. We will be using persuasive role playing and language to introduce people to the stunning Mosaics that litter the city of Barcelona.

In Maths, we will be focusing on patterns and shape which ties in beautifully with our Mosaic theme. These lessons will be taken by Andrina covering Miss Kindon on PPA.

In our topic lessons we will mostly explore the different historical eras of Mosiacs through Rome, Egypt and finishing with Gaudi's stunning architecture in Barcelona.
